Installation

How to install the APK

Because the app is not on Google Play, Android asks once for permission to install from outside the store. The steps vary slightly by version.

  1. Download the APK. Tap the button above; the file is saved to Downloads as eroviya-touch-<version>.apk. If the browser warns that this file type can be harmful, choose Download anyway.
  2. Open the file. From the notification shade or Files → Downloads.
  3. Allow unknown sources. Android 8 and later: in the prompt choose Settings → Allow from this source (only for the browser or file manager you used). Android 7: Settings → Security → Unknown sources.
  4. Install and open. Tap Install; if Play Protect shows a warning, choose Install anyway. You can revoke the permission afterwards; updates install from inside the app.
  5. Grant permissions. On first launch the app asks for Bluetooth and notification permissions. It never asks for location.

Verification. Compare the SHA-256 checksum of the downloaded file with the value above. On a computer: Windows certutil -hashfile file.apk SHA256, macOS/Linux shasum -a 256 file.apk. The app only accepts updates signed with Eroviya's release key.

Trouble?

If installation gets stuck

"App not installed" or "There was a problem parsing the package"

The download may be incomplete; compare the size with the value above and download again. Versions older than Android 7.0 are not supported.

Play Protect blocks the app

Play Protect may warn about apps installed outside the store. Continue with More details → Install anyway. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDK; you can verify the checksum.

My device does not show up or does not respond

Make sure Bluetooth is on and the device is charged; commands are broadcast while the app is open. If the phone cannot broadcast BLE, the app says so under Settings → Device & connection. For anything else, see Support.
